SKY Girls Ghana, the brain child of the Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation, under the consultancy of Good Business UK, also currently exists in Botswana and Uganda as a teen-led movement that seeks to empower teenagers to build their confidence and make the right life choices. Although fun in its flavour, SKY has a serious objective to create a smoke-free generation by stripping the aspiration from smoking. Now Available Africa Ltd Africa was tasked with the execution of pre-campaign research, analysis of findings and translating them into development and execution of a full 360 behavioral change campaign targeted at teen girls within Accra. Among key projects developed as part of this campaign are:
Research into target audience, and eventual launch of the SKY Girls teen movement in Accra, growing membership to over 30,000 under 18 months.
Management of SKY’s digital presence- Creation of social media channels, strategy, content development& design, and community management resulting in an actively engaged fan base of over 100,000 across platforms.
We have successfully established and maintained partnerships with relevant media platforms.
Magazine- Conducting pre-tests to gauge target’s media consumption habits, graphic design, content development, publishing and distribution of bi-monthly magazines at 40,000 copies per edition
Below the line activations – Coordinating and organising events involving over 250 schools in Accra, and in over 50 residential communities.
Videos – Creating and producing high quality video content for distribution across online and offline channels including vlogs and 2 feature length movies with more than half a million views on Youtube.
Radio show – Creating content for weekly radio shows
Out of Home Communication – Creating and implementing design for out of home communications including billboards, bus shelters, bus branding and graffiti.
